Cutting machine expert optimizes the production flow for you
For you, Fecken-Kirfel invests in total 2.5 million Euro into a new, high-quality powder coat facility and an associated new building with staff facilities. With this investment in the newest technology, we’re satisfying the growing global demand. We’re confessing vigorously to our parent company at the production site Aachen.
The new powder coat facility and the staff facilities are located in a new building with two floors each 400 m². In order to ensure a smooth production flow, Fecken-Kirfel installs the new powder coat facility at the same place as the old paint-spray line. The special challenge: For the new facility it was necessary to dismantle an old building and to rebuild a completely new building – and all this during the running production process.
New powder coat facility in a new building
The space for the new building was limited. The powder coat facility had to be adapted like a shoehorn into the new hall. "The planning team has found quickly feasible solutions how to house the collaborators and to lacquer the components at another location," explains managing director Norbert Leyens. From May 2017, the powder coat facility goes into service. Our collaborators can use the staff facilities with sanitary facilities and underfloor heating.
Higher quality and eco-friendly solution
"The powder coating permits a much higher quality, it is much tougher than lacquer and therefore achieves a more exigent appearance," states Markus Frings, head of production. The powder coat facility is completely eco-friendly because no emissions are ejected.
Cutting machine expert plans further investments
We’re investing regularly high amounts into machine equipment and IT in order to set the stage for the business development and to save the jobs at the location Aachen. For the business year 2017/18, we are planning to buy additional machines for the production. "With the powder coat facility we’ve raised our production’s quality and flexibility onto a higher level. In the future, continuing investments will take Fecken-Kirfel another step further towards our targets," summarizes Leyens.
